This main purpose of this site is to help you begin learning Adobe Flash version CS4. The tutorials have been broken down into the four separate pages with links to the QuickTime movies from each of these pages. The information is presented in a linear sequence and starts from the beginning but will take you through many advanced concepts. I believe that it is important to understand each tutorial before moving on to the next one. Many concepts in Flash will build on knowledge from previous tutorials. The tutorial movies for this site were created using a screen capture software and exported into the QuickTime (.mov) format. This format will allow you to view the movies in a browser window or download them to your computer or CD to save and watch later. If you watch them in your browser window you will only have basic controls such as play, stop, and seek. If you want more controls and the ability to increase the physical size of the movie you need to download the actual file. To download the .mov files to your hard drive you should right-click on the tutorial links themselves instead of simply left-clicking. When you get the drop-down menu for the right-click button choose the option for 'Save Link As' or 'Download Linked File' or something similar depending on your browser. You can then navigate to a location on your computer and save the QuickTime (.mov) file. If you are having trouble viewing the movies you may not have the QuickTime player installed on your computer, or you may have an older version. The basic player is free and can be downloaded here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ For any other questions about the site please contact Lynda Thomas, lthomas@ket.org.
