| Jacki Boyd |
Jacki has been planning events in the Bluegrass area
since 1988. Her first introduction to event planning took place at the University of
Kentuckys Center on Aging, and from 1991-96 she planned corporate events for Toyota
Motor Manufacturing in Georgetown, Kentucky. Jacki loved making each guest feel at ease,
comfortable, and honored, whether the event was a small dinner party for top management
celebrating Chairman Toyodas 85th birthday, or a four-day Kentucky Derby weekend for
150 guests, planned down to the last minute.
When Jacki decided to start her own business in January,
1997, many hospitality-related business owners suggested that she concentrate not only on
planning meetings and events, but also on planning weddings. With that suggestion in mind,
she attended a week-long seminar in San Jose, California, so that she would be as
confident in planning weddings as she had been in planning events for the past ten years.
After learning about wedding etiquette, Jacki discovered that a wedding is just another
event: similar details need attention, checklists still need to be made, vendors must be
confirmed, clients wishes have to be taken into account, and everything must be
double checked and verified. |

| Michele
Landers |
What started in 1990 as a sideline, has now grown
into a full-time commitment to weddings. Gone is the quaint home office and lazy
afternoons. Now her days are filled with designing wedding and social invitations, wedding
programs and map cards. In 1994 she started Addressed to Impress, the first company in
Lexington to offer computerized addressing of invitation envelopes in calligraphy and
script typefaces. Michele coined the phrase "Laser Calligraphy" to describe the
technique to potential clients, who in 1994, didn't have a clue of what she meant or how
she did it. But today's technology savvy brides understand perfectly the concept and the
beauty of the process.
Michele is a 1991 graduate of the University of
Kentucky where she majored in English and minored in Journalism. Her design experience
comes from two years of providing layout and design for Bluegrass Magazine; producing her
own newsletter, Bridal Potpourri; and designing brochures, business cards and advertising
pieces for small businesses in the Lexington area. She is active in the community donating
her time and talents to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Chrysalis House and her
children's school. |
| Since
Bridal Potpourris beginning in April, 1998, weddings have been our first priority.
We work with brides, grooms, mothers of the bride, mothers of the groom, and other
interested people to make each wedding experience unique and joyously memorable. Our
clients include people who live out of town, people who are busy, and everyday people who
want to make sure that their weddings are everything they dreamed they would be. |
